wondering1 103 Posted July 20, 2011 So I think I've had close to 30 appointments in preparation for my surgery. I'm really getting sick of this. Until now I saw a doctor about once a year. Now I have about 3 appointments per week - 5 more until surgery. I'm so sick of it. How many of these crazy appointments will I have after I'm sleeved? OMG. It's not like I don't have anything else to do. Oh, and did I mention that for most of these appointments I have to drive an hour each way? Oh and other than my enormous weight problem, I AM pretty heathly. No co-morbidities. Siiiiiiiick of it. Thanks for letting me vent.
Tiffykins 673 Posted July 20, 2011 That's crazy ! ! ! But, I would ask how their follow-up care program is set up just so you can be prepared.
Indymom 132 Posted July 20, 2011 I've been pretty lucky, just an initial consult/group session, psych eval, pre-op testing and nutrition class. That's all my surgeon's office requires. I would be frustrated because of the commute, for sure!

twoboysandagirl 109 Posted July 21, 2011 I am sure you are sick of these appointments and the drive. The good news is you are so close! Almost there. Hang in there!
Tenshi 34 Posted July 21, 2011 I, too, am very sick of all the appointments (and co-pays! ugh!)... and my trip is almost 2-hours each way... AND I don't have a date set yet. Sigh!
Snowbird 0 Posted July 21, 2011 I've only been to the seminar and initial consult with the doctor. I live in western North Carolina and am hoping to be approved for the sleeve at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, Tennessee. It takes me a little over 2 hours to get there. Anybody familiar with this area and heard of a stretch of road called "The Dragon"? I have to travel that road to get to the hospital. I'm hoping to get some of my visits combined because of this road.
