So I have a UTI and my surgeon prescribed cipro. This pill is hugh! I just took my second one but man is it big. Got it down ok but had to eat a couple of crackers cuz the first one made me nauseous. I'm just over 3 weeks out and can't believe I can take this big ole pill. Lol

One thing that has helped both the wife an I was to start drinking a EmergenC brand Vitamin C drink 3 times a week. It's no mystery, it's principally ascorbic acid which passes through to the urine one the body adsorbs what it needs, this acidifies the urine and makes it inhospitable to some infectious bacteria, and the increased Water helps increase the urine flow too.

I mix mine with 12 ozs of Water rather than the described 6, makes it easier on my tiny tummy.

Where do you get EmergenC? I have seen several people on the forum mention it.

I received a call last Wednesday from the Nurse Manager telling me my pre-admission tests found a UTI. I had no symptoms. They put me on bactrim for seven days. My pills are huge too. Luckily, I only have one left!!! They were making me terribly nauseous.

Well if you're in the USA any drug store or department store (Walmart) should have it. You can buy online too but if you're not in the USA it may be dicey.

It also has a lot of B12 in it too so a separate B12 may not be necessary.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
