I was a Dorney park over the weekend and since I've been feeling well and in no pain at all and all my surgery wounds are completely healed I thought... what the heck, I can get in the wave pool! It's just Water right? WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! I was right in the middle of the pool.... testing out the water... when the first wave came. It was not a strong wave, I was not at the wave break whatsoever, but I felt like the wave was inside my stomach and I sort of felt my stomach being dragged with the wave! It was painful! It was like feeling a sharp stab. Of course, I immediately turned around and ran out of that pool like nobody's business! For about 5 minutes, every time I deeply inhaled, I felt a pain on my stomach. The pain eventually went away but I didn't dare get on anything after that! So for all you sleevers out there who are up and about 2 1/2 months after surgery remember, even though you feel great, you are not fully healed!!

STAY AWAY FROM THOSE WAVE POOLS!!!

(by the way; I've been completely fine in regular pools)

Your stomach is healed, some of your internal parts might still be sensitive to the surgery you had. But if your stomach wasn't fully healed, they wouldn't let you exercise or eat solid food.

It is possible it could have been something in the surrounding areas but I felt it right on my stomach. However, I did have a hiatal hernia removed near my stomach as well so maybe it was that? I am not sure. But something was hurt! OUCH!

I went to the doctor (not surgeon) at about 2 1/2 months out. I thought I was healed, had not pain or tenderness or anything. I was there for a kidney/bladder infection so he had me lay down on the exam table to check for any tenderness or swelling related to that. When he pressed around my stomach area, I came up off the table!!! I hadnt thought to mention that since I was there for a UTI and I hadn't had pain or soreness in 2 months!! So, yeah, you still are healing internally and can hurt yourself unintentionally.
