Texasmom65 23 Posted July 15, 2011 I'm post op day 4. My nut said not to worry about Vitamins and minerals until week 2. Just wondering when everyone else started or plans on starting to take theirs.
LonnieThatGirl 2 Posted July 15, 2011 My surgery is July 29th, but I was told that I will be starting liquid vitamins day after surgery. I will continue on liquid for a month I believe until ready to take the pills.< /p>
kellyw74 258 Posted July 15, 2011 I started taking my Vitamins a two months b4 surgery and took them the day after. They were all chewable form. On week 4 post-op, I moved to Centrum multi because the other multi was making me sick and I was able to swallow pills at that point. I also take Citracal now instead of the cewable Calcium. I do still do the chewable Iron and D-3. Kelly
SeattleSue 25 Posted July 15, 2011 Pretty much started my chewable Flinstones like, day 2? was taking my bp meds the whole time...I asked about oral Iron because it's hard on my tummy anyway and Dr. Kelly said after 2 weeks, give it a try.
RedShoesinDallas 4 Posted July 15, 2011 I had surgrey on July 6th. I started taking my liquid, chewable, and sublingual Vitamins the first day I was home all day - which was July 8th. I thought I had read somewhere that I shouldn't be taking Calcium for a couple of weeks, but I checked with my dr. yesterday and he said I should be taking them too. Pammie 8 Posted July 15, 2011 I'm post op day 4. My nut said not to worry about Vitamins and minerals until week 2. Just wondering when everyone else started or plans on starting to take theirs. Hello, not a Vitamin reply, I was curious to know how you are feeling, I actually visited with Dr. Nick back in May 2010 (at the time I was interested in the Lap band but no longer, now I am seeking the sleeve). I am seeing Dr. Castro, I hear great things about both of these doctors, and I hope that you are feeling well.
Texasmom65 23 Posted July 15, 2011 Pammie, I'm doing pretty good. I love Dr. Nick's and his office staff. I see him in Plano, so I don't know Dr. Castro. Good Luck with your decision. I first went in for the band too, but the sleeve is for me. Glad I did it. Now just can't wait for the results.
mina 27 Posted July 15, 2011 the first couple of weeks I didn't worry about Vitamins, I concentrate more on hydration. Once I started on mushies I started doing the flinstone chewables. Now that I'm on regular diet, I will start taking my vitamins. I knew if I was trying to stay on top of the Fluid, Proteins, vitamins, recovery from surgery, adjusting to new diet and working I would get overwhelmed. So I picked what is most important at each stage. That was just my strategy.
sleeve 4 me 910 Posted July 15, 2011 I don't remember but I think it was weeks after surgery. I had a hard time just getting Water down.
Nancy Rivers 24 Posted July 16, 2011 My surgeon wants me to start the chewable vitamins & Calcium on Monday. Today I started full liquids - which includes pureed meats. I really hope those will end up helping me feel better....
mythreechildren2001 7 Posted July 16, 2011 My dr wanted me to start taking chewable flintstones the day after I came home from the hospital. I'm 3 days post op, and I haven't taken them yet because I'm too nervous! I'm afraid I won't be able to chew them down enough so that it will go down, not hurt, and not come back up!
