Pain/Burning Sensation in Left Side :-(

Recommended Posts

Just wondering when this pain in my left side will end.

It usually happens when I bend over (Which I do a LOT of with a one year old-LOL).

The only way I can describe it is like a burning sensation and then when I stand up it feels like a stabbing type pain.

I am post op day 10, so I was just wondering when this will go away.....:frown1:

I developed a sharp pain on the bottom and to the left of my belly button. It didn't start until about 2 wks post op. When I spoke to my Dr.'s office they said that the way the tools move things around during the laproscopic surgery that it is most likely nerves that are re-generating their pathways and it might take another 2 wks to go away. I'm not sure if it is your actual side or if it the bottom left of your stomach.

I also had pain on my left side shortly after surgery and it was gas pain. I would say give it another 3 to 5 days and it should be gone. At least that was my experience.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
