Okay well I am really confussed here. Every since surgery my blood sugar has been in range and as the weight comes off I thought I was done with checking my blood. Well last week I started feeling funny. I passed it off with stress since my hubby was reactivated and we are making a 1200 mile move to Texas. My husband left Saturday and we will follow at the end of the month. So I'm stressed.

Okay well yesterday I thought maybe it is my blood sugar so I checked and it was 140. In past weeks/months it has been under 120. Last night before bed it was 202. This morning 160. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS?

Do I call the doctor? Wait? What do I do???

I have not taken any of my meds since surgery. Has my diabet come back?

Okay I will admit that I have not been eatting real good and maybe not all my fluids but I have been eatting and not sugar???

Any suggestions??

THANKS!

As a former diabetic, I know that stress has ALOT to do with your blood sugar levels. What part of Texas are ya'll moving to? I would call the Dr and tell him what is going on and let him decide what you should do. Hope all goes well....

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
