tntransplant06 20 Posted July 11, 2011 I had diabetes and still am hypothyroid.....I am on a huge dose of Synthroid....would you say that's why my weightloss has been sucky the last 8 weeks? Anybody have insight into this and what I can do to shake it up? I was losing about 1.5-2 lbs a week and the last 8 weeks have averaged -.7.....YES POINT 7....a week. About 2.8 a month...frustrating to say the least. I've done everything my NUT says and still, sucky. She said if in 2 months it's the same, we'll talk with the surgeon. Well, I don't want to wait 2 months, I want to kick this in the butt and get something done. I'm kinda depressed and po'd. I'm in a pissy mood, been that way for about 4 weeks. I'm doing everything right, I'm fighting off hunger pains and getting madder and madder b/c I feel like it is as before the surgery, starve yourself, workout, have no weightloss. I know my metabolism sucks, I was told that by my doc and she said I would never lose more than 40 lbs on my own---which is true! That's why I've had the surgery. I'm at 63 lbs in 6 months. I lost 59 of them in my first 4 months...the last two months, 4 lbs total. To top it off, my husband had the surgery the same day I did and he is still losing like crazy. I think he's at 90 lbs. I know, don't compare...but hard not to when I'm completely stalled and he's still dropping weight and is NOT hungry. I don't know what to do, I don't want to be pissy like this and unhappy and worry that this is all I'm going to lose. I had to pay for this surgery and right now I don't feel all that money was worth it. I just want it to work. I'd be happy if I only lost 88 more pounds. I'd LOVE to weight 199. Really, I'd feel pretty damn good, but to be in the 280's for weeks is not good. So, off to the treadmill I go again...praying and begging the whole workout that I'll lose at least 1 lb this week. sychadelic 10 Posted July 11, 2011 I'm far from an expert, but have you tried playing with Protein and carb counts?Increasing Protein amount for a week or so,or increasing carbs (fruits and veggies) for a while to shake things up a bit? Maybe you've been too good at following the same rules and your body has adapted to it. Also make sure Water is at a good level? I know the weeks I eat a little more (more grazing during the day) I tend to lose more. Just a suggestion to try? Hope things get better, and I agree, not comparing is the hardest part of this journey. You see all these super success stories and when you don't match up, well, it just kinda sucks! On the other hand, this has been the easiest weight loss strategy I have ever had.
