picnic011 0 Posted July 10, 2011 I am 2 weeks post op. At first I had no trouble with liquids etc.. just lost of diarhea.. as I am advancing- I am having more acid, and way more cramping and less tollerance for the protien shakes and liquide. I feel like I am moving back ward not forward.... maybe to much to fast? I was given no pain meds so some times the cramping is soooo bad i sweat and pace... again too much to fast? (last episode was from cold cold milk..) could it be tempture related? I just dont know what to think... the whole time I have not stayed down much because of the pain... I really wish i had some knock out pills for a good stretch of sleep... I was sleeved in mexico so there is no running back to the dr. really... I just dont know if I am paranoid or self defeating...- I have had a little yogurt, some soup... but mostly just getting more frustrated so easing off food and liquids rather than increasing... I just am tired and hurting and its easier to not be in pain. is this NORMAL? Its like few days post op. I could drink drink drink and was soo hungry... no i dont have an appetite. AM I going downhill???
myrori 55 Posted July 10, 2011 First and foremost,,, little sips and little bites chewed very, very well! At first warm liquids seem to ease the stomach. The cramping??? Well my guess is that your new stomach is still inflamed from surgery and go into spasm when the food hits it. Warm and slow will ease this. It all does get better with time! Adri 40 Posted July 10, 2011 I had a real hard time around day 20. I hated the mushy food. Was having a hard time getting all the food and Vitamins and shakes and Water in. It's a lot to ask of us ! I think I was on the verge of dehydration, my stomache was real rumbly, getting diarrhea and fatigued. I decided to up my shakes in place of some of the food and drink drink drink water. I also cut out the dairy (lactose intolerance had set in). And lo and behold, I was better in a day and a half. So perhaps you can try some lactose free dairy and Protein Drinks and up your water and see if that helps. I'm sorry you're having a hard time...but you are not alone in this!
