Are you ready July 11th-15th Sleevers??

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. And I will also be praying for my fellow sleevers this week. We are on our way. Now if the anesthesiologist would just hurry up and call me. Dang I'm more nervous about that. LOL I want to get that last thing done tonight.

Still need to pack my bag. OH well, it won't take long, I just need a few things.

I can't believe in less than 24 hrs I will be on my way to "thin". FOREVER ! :cheer2:

Hugs to everyone!

I hear ya about talking to your stomach LOL and boy does it talk back lol... the things keeping me sane are those popsicles and Jello lol not sure how I am going to make it 12 and 1/2 hrs without anything at all on Wednesday morning lol guess I will sleep late.

Ha! Most likely you will be too nervous to eat anyway! I know I have always been before surgeries. I have to do Clear Liquids all day wednesday. Thank goodness I get to work all week before surgery. I've been off this past week during my liquid diet and it has made it more difficult! You got this honey! Hang in there!!

My surgery is Wednesday- I think I am ready. I fly out tomorrow from Kentucky to San Diego. Then Tuesday morning I am off to Mexicali. I've got a supply of crystal light, lap stop and Nook ready to go. Been doing laundy today, had a cook out with my family tonight and ate a big steak, knowing I will never be able to eat another one the same way ever again. But it is okay, I am ready for a change. I've been real emotional the last two days, but I've heard thats normal. My biggest fear is leaving my 8 and 9 year old for a week. We have never been that far away from them for that long before. I think once I hit Mexico the anxiety about the surgery itself will hit me. But this decision just feels right! My thoughts and prayers will be with everyone else having surgery this week!! Can't wait to hear how everyone is doing later this week. Cathi

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
