former_vbg 198 Posted July 9, 2011 I came across this article and thought it was interesting. I'm barely more than 2 weeks out from surgery, so need to do a test like this- but thought I would share for others who want to know what the size of their stomach is who might be further out from surgery. http://www.bsciresourcecenter.com/proddetail.php?prod=A4
Tiffykins 673 Posted July 9, 2011 Yep, I did it at about 18 months out, and the results were 4.9oz max capacity in 4 minutes 34 seconds before I felt like I was going to upchuck that One last bite. I've also done it with the Yoplait Thick N Creamy yogurt and could only get in 5oz in 5 minutes without feeling like I wanted to vomit. I burped up some of the cottage cheese because of how fast I ate(at least that's what I figured it was from).
LonnieThatGirl 2 Posted July 9, 2011 very interesting!
Oregondaisy 2,021 Posted July 9, 2011 I could never do that because I hate cottage cheese. There are a lot of people on OH who have done it and reported back. I had an Upper GI when I went to Mexicali in May and Dr. Campos told me my sleeve holds 4 oz. That seems about right, although when I order a 6 oz steak, I can only eat half. JackieOMonroe 123 Posted July 9, 2011 cool. I'll have to try this when I'm a bit further out.
Margaret 4 Posted July 9, 2011 Very interestin! I'll go with his results and averages rather than wrecking a Breakfast with the test! Thanks for posting! Disney 20 Posted July 10, 2011 I would love to try this. I will have to try with the Thick and Creamy yogurt like Tiff said, though, because I can't stand cottage cheese
