Tripletsmomma 1 Posted July 8, 2011 After my July 18th sleeve surgery, my new motto regarding food will be: "EAT TO LIVE! NOT LIVE TO EAT!" I know it is not original but I stil like it.
Texasmom65 23 Posted July 8, 2011 I love that. It's taken my 46 years to come to that conclusion also. But I do so enjoy the taste of food. Just not so much of it anymore. LOL

SmokyMtnGal2011 10 Posted July 8, 2011 My surgery is a ways off (supervised diet stage) but as this point my slogan would be: I AM WORTH THE EFFORT TO WIN BY NOT GIVING IN!!!! So often I feel that "larger" bodied people are view in society as lazy, dumb, worthless and the entertainment industry also portrays large people as clowns, comic relief or losers. How sad this is for our young people who stuggle so with their identities anyway!! How sad it is for us large people who have had to deal with these untruths for so many years. WE ARE NOT THOSE STEROTYPES - WE ARE UNIQUE, EACH OF US. Some of us are large due to genetics, some have medical conditions, some have mental hurdles, some are depressed and some feel unworthy but we all are wonderful, human beings that deserve a chance to be healthy, happy and loved for the "inside" qualities that make us who we really are... not the physical body we are encased. OK, off my soap box for the day. Just needed to vent and I love you guys and gals on here for all your support. I got the "look" last night and this time it hit me the wrong way. You all know the "look" that skinny folks give us, I HATE THAT!!!! Sometimes, I just want to scream at them, WHO ARE YOU LOOKING AT AND WHY DO YOU SCREW YOUR FACE UP THAT WAY - IT MIGHT FREEZE ONE DAY! Again, thanks for letting me ramble. YOU ARE THE BEST!!! 1 gabby_abby reacted to this
Foxbins 625 Posted July 8, 2011 food is fuel. It's not love, it's not comfort, it's not an expression of emotion anymore. It's just what your body needs to function.
LeahG 16 Posted July 8, 2011 I think I orginally saw this on someone's signature around here, but it really hit home with me. You can't continue the same behavior and expect a different result.

iegal 460 Posted July 9, 2011 Mine was ... and still is "No regrets" I learned to not look back at what was, how I was, who I was, how I used to eat, what food meant to me. Being sleeved was the START of a new me with no regrets. A new relationship with food started. That first week was rough. I had to encourage myself to follow to post op diet to the letter because this surgery was my last ditch push for the real me, without the crazy hungries all the time. Without the dreams of food and what I would eat tomorrow, planning my life around where I could eat. I ate all the time. That is now gone. A new me emerged. I am strong. No regrets. Okay - maybe I should have done this a lot sooner.
