The upside of a foot injury after weight loss!

Recommended Posts

So last night I was dozing off in the chair last and my grand daughter started to cry and I jumped up out a the sleep you first enter and my foot must of been asleep and all I heard was this loud pop as my foot rolled and I fell to the ground. Turns out at urgent care it is not broken but quite possibly a torn or ruptured tendon.

The good news here????? After 108 pounds of weight loss I can USE crutches! I thought last year when I ruptured my Achilles tendon I could not swing on crutches because I was too old, not just because I was fat! Well turns out it WAS just because I was fat! I am concerned about my work out routine in the next few weeks, but my arms should be really kick ass after this!

Ah, when I broke my ankle last year I couldn't use the crutches for that exact reason. It was so depressing. I can't even imagine how many things in my life will change after surgery. It is the little things. Congrats on the NSV!

SO great!.

Not exactly the same thing as you, but I got bilateral foot surgery just 9 days before my sleeve surgery. And having to take it easy post sleeve really has helped me take good care of my feet. I am on the mend, but it's all coming together.

I am happy for your success. Good luck with your arms! lol :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
