Hi MAndi,

I agree with Yoda that you have to get rid of the red belt - it is out of touch with the rest of the dress. Get a button for it to see how that little keyhole opening looks. I would wear the funky dotted shoes with it - not too much.

I also really like the seond dress. Not old lady but classy lady. It reallu suits you. I would get a lovely necklace and earrings to go with and one of those killer bras that make cleavage pop. You will look to die for!!!

ENjoy and let us know what you did.

Susan

Hi Mandi

My vote is for the second. I think once you have your hair done and makeup it will be a classy look.

I think the red thing on the first dress may look best snipped but It looks like its sewn into the back. I suggest a loose bow in the back. It shouldn't be a focal point. YOU ARE. Otherwise the first dress looks good too. Sorry it isn't much help, but you are just too cute.

Thanks guys! I looked around and there is a seamstress nearby, so I think I will bring it to her and get that belt removed. (it IS attached at the back!) It's really awkward... way too floppy and long if just tied at the back, can't go around more than once... ugg.

The brown (polka dot one), I will keep in mind the suggestions... killer-cleavage producing bra, coming up! I'm more set on doing the black and white one. I'll get the seamstress lady to put a little button on it and show you guys how that looks. Maybe I could even colour in the dots on those shoes and make 'em solid black.

What's with the new lapbandtalk!? I do NOT think I like it... but we'll see.

Smart choice... I loved the 1st dress and the red belt has to go.

Have a great time at the party.

consider the belt lost! Just dropped it off at the seamstress! Stupidly though, I forgot that I wanted to bring it with me this weekend when I go try on some super-sucker body garments.... i'll bring the other one, I guess. Actually.... they said it wouldn't be done until Monday or Tues. Maybe I could go get it and bring it with me. That weird pattern shows bumps really good... and it's a little tighter than the brown one.

As much as I said I'd never diet again.... I'm thinking about it. Maybe I'll tough out the cottage cheese/yogurt diet with one of you TLBC-ers! I just need the scale to move... I'm getting desperate. I did really well the several times I did the cabbage Soup diet. I bet it would be fairly easy for a bandster.... ugg... I don't know what to do.

Hey Mandi, what about doing just small portions of a balanced diet. I am doing the dreaded cc&y diet now and if I were not going to be banded, I am sure that I would gain it all back in a very short time - and not by overeating. I guess if you want to do a dramtic lose in a few days it would work, but be careful of any bounce back.

Hey Mandi, what about doing just small portions of a balanced diet.

that's what I'm trying to do now, and have been doing the last year. It's not working anymore. If I wasn't banded, and did any diet, I know I'd gain it all back and more, like I've always done, but *I* think now, anything I lost on a diet would stay lost.

Am I so stupid to think that we actually STILL have to diet after the band. Yeah, yeah I know about making good choices, no grazing but holy sh*#, when you can only eat 3/4 of a cup what the hell!!!!!

You would definitely know better than I....maybe cc&Y would kick start you losing again. but OMG - look at your losses in a year! That is amazing and are you surprised that you have hit a plateau?

I am surprised... and I don't think this would have happened if I hadn't needed that defill. That is what wrecked the awesome stride I was on. My fault though. Learn from me: get some Gravol suppositories!

No idea. I hate it, cause as you know it's so finicky, some days I think there's no way I want to be tighter, but then the next day I could eat a horse! I have to drive 4 hours to get to my fill-lady, so... it's definitely a weekend event. I'll give it at least a couple more weeks (cause I just can't get down there any sooner than that anyways). Oh, woe is me!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
