richardevans 0 Posted July 4, 2011 I have plenty of drive, but have been mostly impotent (too flacid for intercourse) due to the 15 pills I take every day for Diabetes and High Blood Pressure. After my surgery and I loose 100 pounds AND stop taking most of the medication, might my erections become sufficient for sex? I am 62. My wife is all for it (the surgery AND a new, harder me. :-)
KristeyK 3 Posted July 4, 2011 If you're off all of those meds, I am sure you'll be fine. I say give it a try!!!
lsereno 2,525 Posted July 7, 2011 Hi, I don't have an answer (although I think less meds and less weight will help). My suggestion is reposting your question in the Men's Room forum. Best wishes to you and your wife! Lynda
Lisalu 89 Posted July 15, 2011 Hey Earl, I think it depends on several things. If the dysfunction is being caused by nerve damage, you may not regain function. If it is caused by other stuff, the weight loss should help. Diabetes and hypertension are not great for sexual function. Hopefully when those things are under control, everything will get better. I trust you've tried the viagra/cialis type stuff. They improve blood flow, so they work for lots of diabetics. Of course there are the more radical therapies like implantable pumps, but you may never have to go that route. Intercourse is great, but I also encourage you to get creative. There's lots of stuff that you can do besides intercourse that can be fun and satisfying for both of you.Best of luck to you and your wife.
