KellyL 173 Posted July 1, 2011 Sorry to hear this, but its good you found out now. You can get meds for it and not have to worry about it causing you problems. Good luck!!
Disney 20 Posted July 1, 2011 Right! It's better to treat it now. You sure don't want to give your new angry little tummy anything ELSE to gripe about after surgery!!!
AutumnBlueCarmen 4 Posted July 1, 2011 Sorry to hear about this...but other girls are right...better to know now than after! I hope it all stays on track from here!
wishes 125 Posted July 1, 2011 H. pylori is the bacterium that causes stomach ulcers. It is a really good thing they are taking care of this issue now.
Day Dreamer 23 Posted July 1, 2011 I came back positive for H Pylori as well. Just a heads up - the meds are rough!! You take 4 pills, 4 times per day. Ugh
kellyw74 258 Posted July 1, 2011 Yep! I had the Hpylori too! And I agree about the antibiotics, they are rough!! Made me feel sick for about 4 days. THEY ARE STRONG!! Have to take lots of them for 14 days and double up on my PPI too!! Better to clear it up before surgery tho! They will still operate tho if you get it cleared up! Don't worry, you will be fine! Tipsynoodle 2 Posted July 1, 2011 Just got back from my pcm..........she did a finger stick and it showed 479...so off she went and got me some insulin and a bunch to take home........I used to be diabetic years ago when i got it from medicine...was on prednasone for a few months and it raised my sugar through the roof but then once off of prednasone it went away....well now its back geez. due to the military being on 4 day weekend already lol my pcm could not get a copy of my lab results showing the hpylori so she cant give me meds for it yet until tuesday when everyone is back at work so in the meantime, she ordered the same blood test at her clinic ( for tomorrow) and come tuesday we can compare both sets of results......and go from there......i just hope all goes well enough so i can still have my surgery. sungbyrd 1 Posted July 2, 2011 I had that too before my surgery. The meds are expensive even with insurance. 4 pills twice a day. But I passed the breath test. I have had my surgery and on my way.
