PaulaA 0 Posted July 13, 2006 Hey Paula in Houston here. I went to my post op yesterday, and I'm down 13bls in ONE WEEK!! I'm so excited. My pants and bra are already looser! I did Clear Liquids only-the first week-with 2-3 Adkins shakes per day for Protein. Now I'm on thicker liquids. I took my son to the Cheesecake Factory and had a cup of potato soup- it was so yummy, and not too thick, and it went down fine, and I was not hungry the rest of the day. I have also had some Tomato Soup today, and it does stop that rumbling in my lower tummy. I am so surprised how well I feel. I was a big chicken before the surgery- but so far- so REALLY good. It wasn't that bad. Only had incision pain for a day or two, and had hard time getting up from recline position for 2-3 days. Now, I'm running around, and have really resumed my regular life, and it has been 7 days!! Good Luck to all us July Bandsters! :clap2:
July5forMe 0 Posted July 14, 2006 wow Paula, I am glad you're doing so well. I was banded on the 5th and i don't even feel close to 100%. I still run around and walk around. But i still can't bend down and my port site is the only one that causes me a little pain here and there. You sound like you're doing great. I was scared before surgery too. I probably would of backed out if they didn't put me to sleep when they did. Now i realize i did all the worrying for nothing. Even though i'm not completely well its not as nearly as bad as i thought it would be Keep up the good work Paula!
Leona06 0 Posted July 14, 2006 I've been doing creamy soups- like cream of brocoli with shredded ff cheddar cheese, or cream of mushroom. i have to use soy milk because I'm Lactose intolerant. I love my Protein shakes- I use the chocolate permalean, with vanilla soymilk and 3 drops of mint extract! a chocolate minty treat! I can eat about half a cream of wheat package, or some grits. but Jello and pudding makes me feel stuck. When i have the creamy Soups and cream of wheat, I make sure to drink Water while I am eating to help it go down. I know I shouldn't eat and drink at the same time, but I get scared it will get stuck, so I do it for now. I'm a little nervous for the mushy stage but I know what I want... tuna salad, egg salad with crackers, salmon cakes, avocados, refried Beans, califlower mashed potatoes, and lipton chicken noodle Soup. I've been making a list of the goodies so I can go shopping and pick it up. The mushie stage will seem like a godsend! We can do this!
