I just bought a 14 foot trampoline for my daughter, well she bought it with her communion money. I was wondering what everyone's take is on bouncing for 30-40 minutes a day. My daughter bounced for 5 minutes and was winded, lol. I use to bounce on the trampoline at her gymnastics school and thought it was great cardio. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

It is cardio. The personal trainer brought one to class and had the lady with really bad knees just walk on it. She said it was a workout. Go For It!

My husband and I were jumping on one at our friend's house the other day and we were both winded after a few minutes. We liked it so much that we might get one as well.

Looks like you're under the maximum weight limit of most trampolines. Double check that to be sure, then GO FOR IT!

Sounds like fun to me. Be careful of your knees and back until you gain some muscle tone - even if you already workout, the muscle groups used on the trampoline will be different.

Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Well, I got on just to give it a try because I have had real busy, late nights so I haven't gotten on it seriously yet. I got on while my son was on and just joked around, then my daughter came on. I got about 20 minutes of total jump time and I was breating heavy and sweating, LOL. We have had it for just under a week and my daughter has lost 4 lbs. I hope I can stick with it.

Its fantastic exercise! I can get on ours now as it holds to 90kg and I was trying to show the boys some of the tricks I used to be able to do and was quite winded from it. We need a new one badly, the springs are all busted and its getting a bit dangerous. We're going to get a full adult sized one and I'll be out there bouncing.

As an aside, its fabulous for your core and pelvic floor muscles! Try jumping on a trampoline when you've had 3 babies and you'll know what I mean, lol. You really need to hang on.

Mia.. YOU WILL LOVE IT!! It's the best exercise for me, because it's so effortless and FUN! You do have the 14 ft trampoline.. holds a max. weight of 250.. and the 13 inch has a max of 200. so depending on your Daughters weight, it would be a great thing for the two of you to "hang out" and do the Mommy and Me time. My nutritionist told me to jump up, and bounce down to a sitting position and bounce up again to work the muscles and keep moving for at least 30 min. without stopping and that would be a excellent cardio. Have fun, you'll be working out and not even realize it. Let us know how it goes.

I have 3 kids but they are older my youngest being almost 8. I hope to get back on tonight. I had so much fun. My daughter goes to gymnastics today and since I use to be a gymnast it fires me up to see her doing it and loving it the way I did, LOL.

I love trampolines but I would be concerned that I might jiggle things about or displace my band? Or loosen things or damage my port by landing on my stomach... what do people think?

I waNT ONE SO BAd!!!!!! BUT we looked into getting one and someone told me to check my homeowners policy. and dang it they don't cover them. I even called and asked if we could pay a higher rate and it was just plain NO! She even went to say if I got one and didn't report it and they came by to assess the property they would cancel me!! So make sure you check into that!!

We are soon to change homeowners ins. company and then I'm going to get the bigin.. Is the weight limit 250 on all of them? I am at 300 so I guess I would have to wait a while....

That's bizarre, is that because if you injure yourself you wont be covered for medical costs?

Hmm, what a great way to force children to be obese and inactive - refuse to cover them if they do anything but move away from the television!

Crazy crazy crazy. Doesnt work that way here but we've had a trampoline for at least five years and never ever had an injury on it.

I would love to get a trampoline!! Asked hubby about it but he poo-poo'd the idea. My brother got one, I guess I will have to go to his house to use his but then I will have to fight off the 4 kids to get my time in. Another thought, his daughter fell off theirs so he got this kinda netting thing that goes all around it = keeps the kids from falling off it. (I told him it was a kid cage!)

Jen, check your policy again, I'm pretty sure you can still have one on your property.. but you would not be covered for claims made from injury occuring from it. We are not covered as well, but I'm always out with the kids when they are on it AND I tell the parents of the kids that come over that I am not covered. I also have a rule of two at a time. It has worked great. I also bought the netting to go around it, It helps a bit for saftey. Don't hold me to this 100 percent.. but this is what I got from my Insur. comp. I do know it varys from state to state. As far as the weight limit. The 14 foot hold up to 250 and the smaller the trampline, the less the weight is held. You can go to Walmart.com and it should tell you the same info. per size of trampoline. best of luck to you.

When we had our trampoline, several years back, I was doing day care in my home. I typed up a release form, and no one was allowed on, unless I had the release signed. It also stated I would be present during any jumping, and that they were only allowed to go one at a time. Now after the day care kids left, we had our own rules, for kids and friends. But I thought it better safe than sorry...I had it looked over by an attorney friend, he recommended a couple of wording changes, but thought it would cover me. This was back when trampolines were just making the comeback, so my insurance didn't have a thing about them. I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't now. Other than that, I absolutely LOVED it!!! Might be time to look into a new one!!!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
