Nancy Rivers 24 Posted June 29, 2011 I was just wondering how soon after surgery you could go and have a massage for example. I know I should wait a while to allow the incisions to heal. I had a full body massage for my birthday this year and loved it so much that I want to do it again!
Foxbins 625 Posted June 29, 2011 My masseuse never goes near my stomach, so I guess it depends on how soon you can lay on your stomach comfortably. I shouldn't think there's any medical reason not to have one as soon as you feel up to it.
Just-A-Gem 86 Posted June 29, 2011 In my experience with 2 c-sections, it's usually about 3 weeks before I can lay on my stomach comfortably for more than a couple minutes. I have a therapeutic massage twice a month and I just plan to schedule carefully.
Maddie 9 Posted June 29, 2011 I have had several abdominal surgeries, and for some reason after having VSG, I couldn't lay on even on my side for almost 2 months, much less my stomach. Everyone heals at different rates though, you'll know when it's ok to have the massage.
