I thinned the Beans with enchilada sauce as recommended by another poster - it worked great!!

DEFINITELY ordering a sample. Is it creamy or more like clear liquid??

I had the same problem. I couldn't drink my Protein shakes almost immediately after surgery. I still can't drink milk, eat yogurt or very much cheese. I also cannot stand mayo anymore. About 3 weeks after my sleeve, I developed gallstones and I thought that once my gall bladder came out at 8 weeks post-op that these things would improve. I am now 4 month out and still on the same road. Maybe in a month or so I will try again.

The sleeve amazingly changes many things for all of us. I had a hard time on soft-foods too. There weren't many choices. Mushies does get better. Now I still avoid the foods mentioned above and also red meat as it doesn't sit too well on my tummy. From what I have learned, we are all different and some of us are able to introduce foods quicker than others.

OH, let your doctor know. Maybe they can prescribe Nexium or Prilosec. It might help. It did help me some.

The Syntrax nectar is like fruit juice. It's not thick and heavy like other Protein drinks. Since this one is mixed with Water, it's thin and actually refreshing! I love drinking it on a hot day! I usually drink mine after a workout and it's really great.

I'm very anxious to see my doctor tomorrow! I'm on Zofran for the nausea and Pepsid (or something of the like- prescribed) but it's just not working. I was really good at 4wks and was able to eat fairly well then I got a serious cold and regressed. Ever since then I've been battling this nausea! It's terrible. I'm only able to eat soup! Anything I have to chew makes me wanna vomit. Even the sight of food sometimes makes my stomach upset.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
