Before I went for surgery some people had the same complaints. I thought it wouldn't happen to me, but after having this surgery I wasn't sure if I just totally messed my whole life up. The thing is life gets better and those doubts go away and you become very comfortable with the new lifestyle and new stomach. good luck to you.

Phenergan...as for it NOW! It'll help the nausea. There are a few things that could be causing it, the med will help. (Just hurts going in because it goes into a muscle, not your IV.)

Take anti-nausea meds and just drift in and out awhile. It will be easier each day! One day it will be a bad memory and you'll be happier and happier you did this!

I'm eight weeks out from surgery and have no regrets. I did have some anxiety before the surgery though. Try relaxing, breathing calmly and thinking positively about the future. This will be a step that will make you feel much better in the long run.

HUGS! The hospital part is some of the "not so fun part". I am 4 weeks out almost today! I feel great! I have lost 38 ish pounds since surgery. Trust me on this everyday I wake up with a SMILE! For years I dreaded getting on the scale....now I can't wait! I have more energy, am not so out of breath, clothes are getting looser everyday! I woke up in the hospital just like you and thought "what have I done?" Try to stay calm and think about how you are moving in the right direction. :) The first couple of days are hardest. Try to just take it minute by minute! Sip and walk. :) You are going to be proud of yourself really soon!

I had the same experience - the anxiety - 2 weeks ago when I had my sleeve. I've had those thoughts over the past 2 weeks now, on and off. You'll get tired of sipping and reflux and writing down what you eat and all the rest that comes with recuperation. But you're recuperating. I had to remember all the reasons I made the decision to do the surgery. Maybe that would help you, too. Nothing's worse than feeling sick in the hospital. If you keep a journal you might see in black and white how quickly you'll feel better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
