I am 8 days post op and I am SO tired. Am drinking 80 plus oz , most of which is Protein, and have been doing this since almost the beginning. I am dying for something else in my stomach besides liquid but I still have 13 days of liquids left. I don't know how I can make it that long!! Help, I need encouragement!

You can do it Honest!!!

I was supposed to keep my Water count seperate from my food count as far as ounces. So wondering if maybe you might be getting a bit dehydrated and not realizing it? That can contribute to feeling sluggish and tired. How much actual straight up Water are you drinking per day?

Only about 20-32 oz of actual Water

Yeah you're probably a tad dehydrated hun. Drink your shakes 3x's a day and sip sip sip in between It will feel like you are doing something but drinking, but that's what you need to do right now. I set a goal for myself in the early days. I would drink 8oz of Water before Breakfast, 20 oz before lunch 20oz before dinner, and 20 oz before bed. And if I had room/time I'd "snack" on extra calories and Protein. in between That way I almost always had 68oz of water in me per day often times more than that.

hi-

each day gets better- although today I have tried to work on pool,

I think I sit more than I work...

I get dizzy, mainly from bending over and standing up...

the heat doesn't help-but it's cooler today than last 3 days...

Ok- now that the long awaited surgery has come and gone, kinda eating...

we are in the rest/recoup stage... yea we feel great want to do something but in reality, the body is still going through turmoil.

I'm so going crazy for things to MUNCH, crackers, cookie something....

my cottage cheese and yog for lunch was filling yet, no crunch... I just want something....

ready to borrow my dogs chew toy...

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
