Peggy D 124 Posted September 10, 2016 Twice I've tried a FitBit Zip & returned it because it so under-reported the steps I take. No adjusting of stride length made any difference. I've counted the steps on my usual walking route (in segments) several times so I know how many steps I really take. For now I use my iPhone 6s & an UP Move tracker. Both of them also under-report but not as badly as the FitBit. The UP is worse that the iPhone. The iPhone generally is 3-5% low, the UP is often 10% or more short of actual steps. Does anyone know of an accurate step tracker? Specifically one that runs within 1-2% of steps actually taken.
Peggy D 124 Posted October 24, 2016 I have finally found a tracker that is much more accurate in counting my steps, two actually - Misfit Shine & Misfit Flash. It is still a bit short, maybe 2-4%, but no where near the 20-30% of a FitBit Zip or Jawbone UP.
jacque2250 46 Posted February 9, 2017 (edited) I have a Fitbit Alta, runs about $150 on Amazon. I love it. Tracks, food and liquid intake, steps, activity, weight (with you input) and sleep. I may not be the most accurate as a medical device, but it is "good enough" for our purposes. It reminds me to get up and get busy, "let's rock and roll," reminds me it's time to settle down and get ready for bed, etc. And the Alta is not the most advanced Fitbit. As with any tool, you have to be honest in what you input or you'll get bad output. I do know I love it and it has helped me - I started losing again after I started tracking. Redmaxx 740 Posted May 3, 2017 I know this is a fitbit thread but I didn't like the fitbit at all. I thought the Garmin was a far better fitness tracker.
