Has anyone experienced a stall just 8 days out? I am not overly discouraged but just curious. I am doing exactly as the doctor says and I am getting in all of my Protein and Vitamins. I am so excited about my decision to have the sleeve and I am so excited for my new journey:)

I am almost 3 weeks post op and I am at a stall as well but I am contributing the stall to finally being on the pureed foods stage. I would not get discouraged but I feel your concern and share it with you.

I will keep a watch on your post to see if we have any old sleevers that can squash our concerns..... :)

All the best during your journey!

Dawn :)

Get off the scale. Eat 500 calories. This is just my opinion, but i have noticed a lot of people on here complaining about a stall and then saying a week to two weeks later the stall was over. No offense to anyone, but it seems a bit obsessive. The weight is going to come off. Just throw the scale away and start living! I am sure it will come! That is unless you did it in Mexico and they just cut you open and didn't remove anything. JUST A JOKE PEOPLE! Ok, you are going to do what you are going to do and we all went through this to lose weight and made drastic changes to have drastic results. But I can't imagine not losing at 500 calories.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
