showme 0 Posted June 19, 2011 I am scheduled to be get my sleeve on Monday morning the 20th. I am just starting to get nervous and worry if I am doing the right thing. I have started thinking is this necessary, why can't I succeed at losing weight like other people have, should I risk my life having elective surgery. I used to be thin and very athletic but after 30 and two kids I have been on the yo-yo plan. I don't really have any comorbidities yet and I am self pay so I think I just want to feel like I am doing the right thing at the right time. I know I am probably feeling normal as I have read on here but just felt like sharing. I really enjoy reading everyones topics and comments they are very informative. Thanks. Jax 2 Posted June 19, 2011 I was self-pay for my lapband and VSG. I just had conversion to VSG on Friday, 6/17. I too was feeling the exact same thins you are. I'm glad I did it and I'm looking forward to each day that I feel better from surgery. No one can tell you that you are doing the right thing, only you can know that. For me, it is the best thing. I lost 53 lbs with lapband and only have maybe another 20lbs to go. With the VSG, I will be able to lose and maintain. Good luck on mOnday! I understandstand why some people are on anti anxiety meds because if I felt this way day in and day out, I would go crazy!. Hope you have a safe and uneventful surgery and recovery.
