If the radiology team was called in by your bari and they refusedto come in that is a huge no no  . The ordering physcian needs to know that he was refused. That is a disregard for doctors orders. They should be shaking in their shoes cuz IF you would of had a serious complication (I am talking er surgery) and they did not come in that in itself is a lawsuit. You are correct to be calling the er admin and the hosp admin. You need to call both. Also, loop your bari into the process. If you get to actually "see" the admins I would bring in a picture of what the stomach looks like post vsg. I am sorry that human medicine is so stupid sometimes. I used to work on the human side and switched to the animal side.

I feel fine now that is has passed, I was feeling it quiet a bit on its journey to the sewer. The emotional scaes are still raw from the hospital experience.

Unfortunately many medical places have lost that sensativity toward the patient. Now it's all about quotas and getting money. Its really sad, I work as a nursing supervisor in a local clinic and always make time for my patients, I will listen and definately help them any way I can if it's by referral or by going an extra mile and just being there for them as they cry or tell me their story. . . it's really sad the care has been thrown to the wayside in many cases. I'm glad your better physically, but emotionally you'll be ok, I always say "what goes around, comes around" Those folks who did you wrong like that will one day be on the other side and get someone just like how they treated you. . . good luck. . know that we are here for you!

I'm really glad that everything has resolved okay as far as the physical problem. I can only hope that you get a satisfying resolution to the hospital/doctor/tech problem as well. I'm sorry that this happened to you, and sorrier that you had such a bad experience. Please let us know how it turns out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
