Tamz 8 Posted June 18, 2011 My Dr. has not mentioned calories at all. Basically my "worksheet" says to have 3 meals a day 1/4 cup each- of Full Liquid.. and to drink Water in between and get 40-60grams of Protein in one way or another. Basically that is all it says. It seems to simple?? I have heard others talk about counting calories..... but I have not heard of anything like that yet. He just told me to simply follow the worksheet and if i cant do 1/4 cup 3 times a day yet then do what i can.. but make sure to get liquids in. Any insight? Is this basically the concept or am i missing something... lol
meggiep 57 Posted June 18, 2011 Have you started logging your intake on an application? I use fatsecret.com. You will find you are taking in very few calories (unless you hit that sugar free ice cream too much! ) My doctor recommends 600-800 calories for the entire weight loss period. I imagine your doctor will recommend certain amounts once you add real food.
LeslieT 0 Posted June 19, 2011 That is the plan that I am following, too.I hope to hear from others what their thoughts are. Btw, I was sleeved on June 7 and he already started me on pureed. I have been afraid to start puree because I'm afraid of once I start eating I won't stop...old mentality but it was there a very long time!
Rootman 1,101 Posted June 19, 2011 YES, it can be that simple. Many here over analyze stuff and worry about carbs. Just cut the calories and concentrate on Protein and the rest will handle itself. Protein is necessary because it's the stuff that you need to maintain lean muscle mass and is basically long lasting "high test" form of calories instead of easily burnable carbs. Get in your protein and you have little room for much else.
