So since we are all this week coming up what were your pre-op diets that your surgeon gave you mine has been 1 week liquid diet, and it's been pure hell just because I hate feeling hungry!

I started mine on May 31st. So for the first week, it was 4 Protein Shakes and a small meal with no red meat and very low carbs. I had to stay under 1000 calories. Then after my preop class on June 8, I could only have 2 Protein shakes and one small meal. I had to keep it under 1000 calories a day but I've ended up keeping it between 600-700 calories a day! Yeah, I've had a few meltdowns from being hungry or just plain not feeling satisfied. It has truly been one of the hardest things I've done in my life.

Mine was SF Jello, SF popsiccles, low Na broth, crystal light, Protein shakes, Water, and 1 SF pudding a day for 2 long weeks! I am sitting here starving with cotton mouth! I am so sick of everything that sometimes I just dont eat anything. I am scared as (bleep), but Ill be glad to start full liquids after surgery. Good luck to every one. Lets keep in touch

I'm the same as you I can't stand broths or sf Popsicles Soo all week I've been living off Water and Gatorade but I've lost 14 lbs in 4 days Soo I guess it's working, but I would be fine if I didn't feel hungry boo!! :/

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
