I used to have bladder incontinence as well, my dad and husband are urologists and wouldn't consider anything till I lost some weight, now after losing weight, I don't have incontincence anymore so I think there's hope for you, good luck!

I had this problem but was always too embarrassed to talk to a dr about it. I've noticed some definate improvement, though it hasn't completely resolved. I'm hoping losing another 50 lbs will fix it completely.

This problem was horribly embarrassing for me and I kept it hidden and didn't tell anyone about it. I was hoping that the surgery would help me and guess what? 1 week out of surgery and I could stop wearing "protection" because it was 99.9% GONE. This in itself would have been a reason for me to go through the surgery and the weightloss a side benefit!

Hi, I also had some problkems like you but all is well now the weight has gone. I bought a mama tens and used it everyday to help strengthen my pelvic floor too, and I was prescribed hormone pessaries because I am post menopausal and all is fine below.

I'm still pre op, but even losing the 35lbs I have lost, the incontinence issue is far better. I had 5 vaginal births and thought I was out of luck, but am so thrilled to not have to wear extra protection anymore.

For those of you who are post menopausal and not on any kind of estrogen therapy... I had trouble with incontinence and LOTS of UTIs.. My doc prescribed a femring... it is an estrogen delivery system that fits in the vagina. I cannot feel it there. Some docs like this because not much estrogen goes systemic as I understand it. After I started using it most of the incontinence stopped and the UTIs are down to about 1 a year instead of 6or7.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
