Janet Brown 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I have had my band on since Dec.05. I have had 4 fills. The last 2 had to be deflated because of vomiting for 7 days. I have only lost 15 lbs in 7 month. Any tips for finding the sweet spot??????????
Pinkylee 7 Posted July 5, 2006 I'm not too far along, but exercise seems to be the key. Walking after supper and no snacking in the evening has helped the scale inch down a bit. I've done a lot a surfing on this site and most commited exercisers seem to be the most successful group. What's your food plan like?
Elisabethsew 50 Posted July 5, 2006 Have you considered asking for a fill under flouroscopy? That might give you the exact amount you need.
La_madam 20 Posted July 5, 2006 There is no sweet spot, it is a myth...the band is just a tool we have to do the work. I had my band for 18 months and lost over 100 lbs and never found the sweet spot, acord9ing to my Dr. there is no such thing as the sweet spot
Elisabethsew 50 Posted July 5, 2006 I believe the "sweet spot" is the name given to an optimal fill level and that amount differs from person to person. For me, a 1.5 cc fill did nothing but the added 3 cc's for the second fill did the trick and achieved the level of restriction I needed. Now, my band lets me know when I've eaten enough but I have no difficulties associated with being overfilled.
Dianechef 3 Posted July 5, 2006 I've had my band for a year now & I am really leaning towards La Madam's theory. I'm not sure there is a Sweet Spot. I have not found it & I've been over-filled, under-filled & everything in between. I lost the weight from hard work!! The band DOES help me to feel fuller faster, but I never really found a spot that helped me stop eating. I still felt hungry & wanted to eat. My weight loss has been slow & steady & I am thrilled with it. However, I gave up finding the sweet spot. This band is my buddy & when we work TOGETHER, I really do much better. :grouphug: Not sure I helped or not, but thought I'd give you my 2 cents.
