Hello there across the pond!!!

My doctor told me at my last visit that my weight will plateau between 150 and 170. (I'm 5' 4"). He said the the people who get lower work out a lot. After hearing that I kicked up my exercise. Maybe that can help.

I think you are doing great and keep it up!!!:D

Hello Everyone,

I'm back again.....missing for a few months! Not exactly missing in action... more like missing at rest.

Not much damage done.. .......but no weight loss either.

I am still high up on that plateau and hoping to descend for Christmas, so now is the time to get focused.

This time I intend to stay online and get more accountable.

Hey Bookleen, welcome back.

I've been in a similar situation tbh, I got back from holiday last Monday though and checked myself in at the closest Rosemary Connelly class. I think that with 15 weeks to Christmas and 18lb to goal I need to be held accountable, so I've come back to the traditional humiliation of being weighed in public once a week!

We can totally do this! ;)

xx

Hey Brookleen,

I've only just realised that this thread was an open invitation... and I wish I had seen and joined it before.

Anyway, congrats on a great weight loss so far... I am in the same boat as you in many ways too.

I love the idea of being at my surgeon's goal by christmas... that would be the best present ever - apart froma date with the one and only Robbie Willliams...lol!!

So, you have my support and encouragement too... good luck let us kick the ass out of the last stretch!! x

Hello Everyone and you are all welcome to join me on this thread, even though it is supposed to be a personal log.

I would love your company here. Please join in.

I am Bookleen and I am back on this thread after approx an 18 month absence.

I have just "celebrated" my 3 year sleeve "birthday". My birthday present from me to me is getting back on this VST forum!

Well I would love to join the " vets forum" but I am not eligible for a couple of reasons.

Firstly I never quite reached goal. I lost weight for the first 7 months and then hit a plateau for the next 7 months even though I thought I was continuing to do things right. I was still weighing regularly and generally obsessing about not losing weight. After being on that plateau for 7 long months I drifted away from VST and also stopped weighing myself as often, and then decided that I would live my life "like a normal person" and stop obsessing about food, weight etc etc.

Well, now I am back, surprise, surprise.

I enjoyed myself in the past 18 months and have every confidence that I will be able to lose the additional weight I gained and also go all the way to goal if I put my mind to it.

I have gained 7 lbs in the past 18 months and I also would like to lose the last 13 lbs to reach goal. That means I now have a total of 20 lbs to lose.

The second reason that I cannot join in the "vets forum" is that I have not enough posts. One needs 100 to join in. When I was at the initial stage of weight loss I used the name "Booklean" and clocked up some posts on that name. However, when I changed my PC and had problems logging on, I had to re-register.

Now, my ambition is to stay on this thread and be accountable. I intend to log on regularly and hopefully frequently and give an account of my "doings"--- the good, the bad and the ugly, but hopefully it will turn out to be more good than bad.

To do this I will need your help, support, encouragement, challenges and of course your sense of humour.

I am in no rush to lose those 20 lbs. However, I will set myself a goal of Christmas 2013.

Bye for now,

Bookleen

Don't forget-------I would love to hear from you!

Thanks feedyoureye,

I feel welcome although I do not know where to tap into the action on VST at this point in time.

I have been reading posts in several spots and the site has changed so much since my first visits that I cannot be sure where I belong. No problem. I will take roots here and try to get back into the swing of things.

There are some slightly fresh points of view that I find interesting since I first joined 3 years ago.

Different people put emphasis on different points which I find very informative and helpful.

Bookleen

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
