Big Boy got Sleeved

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I got sleeved on May 31, 2011. I'm 14 days out and finally feeling better. I have lost 29 lbs to date, going from 327 to 298. I had my surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan by Dr. Roslin. The first 2 days in the hospital were the worst. I thought I was going to die. I couldn't get comfortable, I was in pain and it seemed like the hospital staff was doing something to me every 20 minutes, so no rest. I had to get out of the hospital because my blood pressure was going way up. My wife called my primary care Doctor who had me released from the hospital. That made the difference. If I wasn't released that day I was going to escape and walk home with my a$$ sticking out of that gown. When I got home I started on the Atkins Protein Shakes which are OK and dannon light and fit yogurt. I've been drinking Water and Diet snapple. The best thing I've found are sugar free tropical popsicles.

I've started walking, today 2 miles and I'll try to keep this up for at least the next 2 weeks every day then move to the bike. I'm hoping to get back to my birth weight 8 lbs or as close to it as I can get. Realisticly I want to get to 240 lbs and try to maintain that weight for the rest of my life. I'm 6'2" and 240 is a good weight for me, any less and I would be too fragile.

I'm glad I found this site because I know I'll need the support and encouragement that only fellow sleever can give.

Do well and let me hear about it.

Congratulations on everything so far! We're pretty similar, I'm 6'1.. Originally about 310, now about 297 - I'm getting my sleeve 7/6/11.. and I'm hoping to get between 220-240 as well.. I know how to hospital goes, last time I was in the hospital as soon as they took my morphine button away, it was time to bounce!

Good luck on everything! You'll hit your mark in no time!

Well hello there and welcome. . . i laughed at your image of walking home in the gown. . . that would have definately been a show stopper!!!! Good for you! What can I say except follow doctor orders and keep exercising. . . soon you'll hit that magic number called goal. . . the journey is different and you'll have your moments, as we all have had, but it's so worth it. . . I'm out 18 months and still can't complete a whole orowheat thin in one sitting. . . so restriction remains for quite some time (thank god) . . . I'm 6'0 so i know exactly what you mean about certain weights looking too fragile. . . hehehe my fragile starts after 190 lbs or so. . . well good luck and keep up the excellant work

Hey whats going on, I got on the scale and I gained 3 lbs, so I bought a new scale and tortured the old one to death. I left the old scale in veiw of the new scale just to let it know what can happen.

I'm still on liquids but have dicovered I can have Soup. I love Tomato Soup, its the highlight of my day. I've been walk/run 2 miles for the last 3 days. At this rate i better reach my goal weight before I get hit by a bus. I run/walk really slow, it's the best I can do right now. I got passed by an elderly woman in one of those Razzie's, I was so close to Razzie-jacking that old broad, but she was too fast.

Everyone keep up the hard work and keep your eys on the prize..... being the Hot person you see in your mind.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
