Irene - you are an inspiration. Your progress is amazing and your pictures certainly show the results!

About your stomach being sensitive to foods that are too high in fat or too "carby" - I am right there with you. I am trying to find some types of beef that I can eat because I am anemic (even though I am on Iron supplements). So far, pot roast or meatloaf seem to do OK and not give me that sick feeling you describe. Grilled steak or burgers don't set well at all. The first time I ate one of those, I had to go back on lquids for a couple of days to get over the sick feeling.

Oh well, I'm thrilled with my sleeve - I'm willing to give up heavy beef and pork dishes to continue of my journey to being thin.

I look forward to your posts - you always have something interesting to say.

I've been having these issues for a long time, but not until recently when I did some back to back bad meals did it start affecting me every time I ate. I became worried that something worse was going on. I did do liquids, ate carefully and mindfully and in the last few days I'm back to normal. I haven't had any problems eating at all.

For a long time it felt like I was the only one that went through this stuff but I posed the question on the FB Sleever group and have mentioned in here in several places and it seems there are quite a few of us. It's just nice to know, not that I wish this on anyone! However someone did tell me that at least it's all the bad foods we have a hard time with. I totally agree, because when I was banded it was all the healthy good foods I had a hard time eating. Of course that left me getting fatter all the time... !!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
