Has anyone tried Myoplex Carb Control protein shakes?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried these?

Myoplex Carb Control Ready-to-Drink contains Milk Protein Concentrate, Calcium Caseinate, and whey Protein Isolate.

I've tried the strawberry and it tastes pretty good but I'm not sure if it is good for us or not since it has a couple of types of protein. There is a total of 25g of protein and 5g of carbs in an 11 oz shake.< /p>

Yes I do drink these all the time. I actually will use that as a base and mix in a scoop of my unjury or Bariatric fusion which are also both no carbs. I will typically drink these right after my morning workout. I've been drinking these for many years and I'm healthy and strong - so I don't think these drinks are bad.

HTH :)

Just finished one, actually. :D They're a little on the pricey side, but so convenient! I think for economical reasons, I wouldn't have relied on them during liquids, especially since they're only partly whey Protein isolate, but they sure are handy now, further down the road.

I drink the chocolate and the vanilla. It is only vanilla ready to drink I can stand the taste of. There are a few varieties of this product - some with higher or lower carbs - I go for the low carb varieties.

Years ago when I was thin and compulsively working out - my trainer would have me drink one after a hardworkout. I agree with the earlier post - I don't think they are bad for you, I believe they are a reliable source of good Protein.

Yeah, I love EAS brand. OMG, LilMissDiva you are brilliant. I will totally start adding a little Protein Powder to my drinks to add Protein and keep down the carbs. That is brilliant.

I love the EAS Carb Control shakes. 17g protein/4 carbs with only 110 calories and no sugar. I use them to replace my chai craving in the morning by putting them in a disposable coffee cup and steaming it. It's so close to hot chocolate I don't miss my starbucks chai at all!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
