Well Hi Everyone, it is the night before my surgery and I starting to get a little nervous. I know I'm making the right health decision for myself just praying everything goes well. I just had my last white rice dinner with mushroom chicken and I enjoyed it. My kids were just sent to my aunts house for the next few days and I gave them a very long kiss goodbye. I am asking that you say a little prayer for me as you say your goodnite prayers,. I will write on Tuesday when I am released from the hospital. I Will be speaking to you later everyone.

Exciting, you can do this. It is totally normal to be nervous. I was nervous the night before. Then I had a long talk with God and gave all my worries over to Him. I woke up calm and at peace and felt that way ever since!

I will be waiting for your update....see you on the other side!

I was with you till last Thursday night, the unknown...I now am feeling good, I got out of the hospital on Monday am, first day home and I am going to be ok.... A little quiet time is good for the soul. God is in control and he will give you peace. Just relax and do what the dr. tells you. You will feel so much better in awhile. You did it!!

You will be just fine! Yes,my prayers are with you, and I look forward to hearing your story :) I was the reverse of you.. I was only nervous AFTER the operation, when I had the thoughts of the tough task of managing diets etc..However, the stories that the members have shared are very positive, so i look forward to sharing stories with everyone myself, being new to the group.

All the best Mama!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
