Clothes tell the real story

Recommended Posts

I think the only way you could get your avatar AND your picture to show together would be to combine them with a photo editing program and post it as one avatar. There is an accepted size for avatars - I don't recall what it is, but you can do a search on Google for "avatar size" and I'm sure you'll find it. Then in your photo editor just resize the combined avatar/photo to avatar size, and choose it from it's location on your harddrive by using "browse" when you go to change it here.

Good luck, Miss Panther!!

Oh you guys are so funny acting like I know what a pixel is! I am anti-puter all the way. I chat, check messages, write some stuff, play a game, then run like hell away from the puter and all that frightening language!

Are you trying to tell me that I can post my picture "instead" of an avatar? If so, please help me like you'd help a toddler. Put the red block in the blue box. Bunch of smart people in here, I'm impressed!

Go to user cp at the top, click on edit options, at the bottom it says change avatar, scroll all the way down by you can upload a pciture from your computer, hit browse, find the folder that your picture is saved in, click on your picture and click open then save changes. If you need me to resize your picture to the correct pixel size, email it to me at kellymoos@aol.com and I will resize it and send it back to you. If you want both the pig and your picture then you have to do it in another program. Let me know what you want and I will do it for you if you would like. TTYL..

I live a few miles off of The Strip, so yes, I'm close to Caesar's. But I hate going to the casinos.... NOT! Hubby calls me

Gamble-ina or NickleFoFickle! But sorry, babe, I'm busy getting banded this weekend so you'll have to wait a lil more. But I'd be happy to get you some smelly stuff when I'm up & around again. Any ol' time, pally!

We recently spent a nice day in Bouler City. So peaceful there.

I think I understand how to post my face instead of an Avatar now. I may need Kellymoo help getting the picture that small though. I'll let you know. Did I tell u the stupid story of my sister, who just lost 60 pounds on diet pills? She's super skinny now. We took a couple family pics over the weekend of me, bro, & sis. She used her software to shave 60 pounds off me, then she e-mailed the pics to friends & family. Really ticked me off. She's so vain that she can't accept the fact that she's small, Fred's medium, Lance is large, and I'm little sis is triple X. I guess she's ashamed of me... to flippin' bad tho! Fat or thin, I'm still me! These last few hours at work today are going pretty slow, and my belly is growling on this liquid fast. I can do it, I know I can I know I can I know I can!

Hi Alexandra,

Sorry the post is late, been working lots of overtime. I can't wait to start buying clothes, trying them on and finding I need a smaller size. How exciting for you!!!   More inspiration for all of us newbies!! I found a great quote that works for the band. It made me think of you. "My advice is to go into something and stay with it until you like it. You can't like it until you obtain expertise in that work. And once you are an expert, it's a pleasure." It looks like you've become the expert and you have gotten to experience the pleasure. Can't wait to get to where you are!!!

Take Care,

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

Thanks for the nice words! And you know, there is a lot of truth to that saying. I just recently experienced such a turning point in my job.

About 4 years ago I entered the field of insurance brokering, specializing in small group health insurance. It's actually pretty complicated work, and until recently I always felt a little out of my league. (And that's saying something, since in case it's not obvious from my posts I have a pretty high opinion of my own intelligence. )

I was getting very frustrated, was unhappy and irritable, at odds with my colleagues, and seriously thinking about starting again in some new field. But suddenly things all turned around just recently and I now am at ease and even enjoying my work.

The reason, I think, is that I was given a substantial raise for no particular reason. That's nice, of course, but even more than the money what was appreciated was the message. My bosses are telling me they have confidence in and respect for my abilities. So suddenly I do too, and in that newfound confidence I can find pleasure in my work where none existed before.

It's so true!  :D :D

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
