Cleaning Out the Closet

Recommended Posts

So I decided to go through all my bins of clothes from previous sizes that I had stacked in the back of my closet. When I put them away they were are thrown in together. So I went through and organized them by sizes- thinking that will be helpful as I go down in sizes. While I was sorting so many clothes brought back memories. They made me think of specific events and people I was with. Amazing how clothes could do this. It was almost like looking at old photographs. It was kind of fun!

Also as I was looking at the clothes I realized how tiny many of them were and yet at the time I wore them I still felt HUGE. I'm hoping that this time I will appreciate getting down to those sizes and have a better frame of mind than I did in the past. I know that will be easier said than done. Anyone been through this? Have you lost your weight and felt better than you did at that size before? I think it will definitely be a mental game and I hope I will be able to win!

That is a long time away for me but the clothes got me thinking about the future. It will definitely be fun to go clothes shopping in my own closet (not to mention saving a bunch of $$$) and I can't wait to wear the clothes again! Some of them are just so darn cute- now I have a goal! I'm thinking of grabbing a couple pieces of clothing and hanging them up in front of my elliptical machine for motivation while I'm exercising!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
