Feeling dizzy and weak

Recommended Posts

I am feelingso weak and dizzy and hungry!!! I am on day 5 of 14, and I wonder if I can make it. this has to be some type of torture for not being able to lose the weight on my own. I guess I am feeling a little sorry for myself right now :(. Please send up some strength prayers for me!

Day 5 of your pre-op??? The pre-op is by far the hardest part to me!! I totally sympathize! Are you getting to have Protein Drinks? Popsicles really helped me. Stay strong!! It's worth it!

Could you tell us what you are having on your pre-op diet? Is it liquid or do you get to eat real food?

I can have sf Jello and popsicles, low salt broth, protein shakes and all the Water I want. Its just really hard when you have to cook for your family and cant enjoy it. The evenings are the hardest and I have been off work the last 3 days. I kind of wish I had to work because it was a little easier when I was there. Thanks yall I know there is a gift at the end of this for me!

Lissa, are you on blood pressure meds? I was and I cut down on them while I was doing pre-op and on the blood sugar ones because with the little amount of sodium and all the liquid and not much fat or carbs, they were too strong for my body. If you are on them, check your blood pressure and see if it isn't low. YOU CAN DO IT!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
