stall after 3 weeks!!!!! ugh!!!

Recommended Posts

Hey all. I was so excited to report that my 7 days post op i lost 19 lbs. Then in my 2 week i was down 28 and now in my third week i completely stopped. As a matter of fact one day the scale said 250 which was my first goal to the very next day saying 255. HUH??? Im confused, i keep losing and gaining everyday. its been a week and i may have lost maybe a lbs but can tell cos my scale isn't digital. I feel like im doing something wrong or im not going to lose the weight. Of course im afraid of failure cos all the other diets were failures.

Also, Im on the 4th stage which is reg soft and moist foods. however, i keep vomiting and i don't know if it is cos im eating too fast or what. When i eat, i actually have pains in my stomach that hurt alot. Please tell me this is normal.

Love ya each.

Sheena

I too stalled at 3 weeks........and going on my 3rd week on no loss! I just weigh now once a week, on my anniversary day because it was certainly discouraging to get on the scales and nothing was moving.

And if you are vomiting, my guess it's both, eating too fast and too much. Chew slowly, put your utensil down afer each bite. And don't drink!!!

Good luck! Those scales will move again for us!!

Our bodies are in an inflammatory state right now, usually until about 6 weeks out. That means our bodies grab on to Fluid and let go of it in cycles as the body heals and that's why we are seeing the scale move up and down. My doctor explained this to me at my 3 week post op check up yesterday. We will lose the weight! But our bodies are just trying to heal right now.

Yes, i believe i am eating too fast. SOmetimes i am so hungry that i want to eat fast. And i can eat the same food i ate earlier in the day and then vomit it back up. I know i wasn't suppose to drink during meals but would drink cos the food felt caught in my throat.

thanks everyone for ur helpful comments.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
