GNC Gold Standard Whey

Recommended Posts

Hi all. So I bought a huge container of this Protein shake from GNC and I have no idea what to do with it. I tried stirring it in my coffee since it was French Vanilla but that was really awful. Is anyone out there using this product? and how?

The smell of all the Protein drinks is off putting.

I found a ripe banana thrown in, not only naturally sweetens the drink, it add thickness. I can't stand any of the vanilla drinks.

I honestly can't stomach any of these Protein powder drinks unless they are blended for at least 3 to 4 minutes to eliminate graininess and then into the refrigerator for overnight cooling.

Hi, I wasn't crazy about GNC's Protein it was the only one that made me nauseous it helped to mix in Nesquik Sugar Free Chocolate or some sugar free pudding I also used it to make sugar free pudding.

I totally felt the same way about Protein Drinks. They made me GAG so bad and the smell and taste were just NASTY.

Until I met Pure Protein Vanilla mix it is THA BOMB. No protein smell or taste. It is great. I mix 1/2 Water and milk and it is not too thick. Sometimes, I add a banana or Peanut Butter and it is great.

They also have RTD ones. The strawberry Cream is SOOOOOO good and so is the peanut butter! You should try it. Vitamin Shoppe has the RTD ones and Target nad Walmart sell the powder!

Kelly :D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
