Im 8wks out from surgery and I've went down two pant sizes which is great. However, I struggle with the first meal of the day most times it just comes right back up. I sometimes hate to try new stuff because I never know if it's going to agree with my stomach or not. I still feel nausiated and occasionally throw up. Does anyone have any suggestions or know when I feel more normal?

Are you on solids now? Do you think it's what you're trying to eat or how much? I think sometimes we think we can eat more than what we actually can because it is such a small amount. Even just a bite too much can make it come back up. Are you on a ppi? The acid can cause nausea, and so can dehydration. I hope it gets better for you!

I usually try to do a light meal in the morning. Maybe a yogurt, just to get my stomach ready for the daily meals. around 11 pm I would have eggs with peppers and onions. It all goes down pretty well. But there are still certain foods that I struggle with. Hard boiled eggs always get stuck so I always stick to scrambled. What are you having for Breakfast?

I usually eat 1/2 of PB toast or a scrambled egg usually doesnt matter much most times it still comes up. My food intake is minimal no more than 1/2 cup of food it's hard to eat more than that. I can say that it's better then it was a couple weeks ago. I just find my new eating & drinking habits challenging like drinking 64 oz of liquids a day, Im getting better though. What are some good Protein Drinks to have? One other question I have is when your on your period how is your appetite then?

I would suggest to call your nutritionist and ask for some guidance. Maybe you should try the eggs without the toast for now. Then try again in a week or so. Give your pouch time to heal, some people recover faster than others so it might be that you are still in the healing process. As far as the Water intake I buy the 1 liter bottles of Water and that helps me keep track of how much I am drinking. 2 bottles of the one liter is almost equal to 8 cups of 8 oz. I carry that bottle around like it's my baby. I literally zip all day long except when having meals.

I purchased the bariatic advantage Protein drinks but I didn't like them much, the best one was the chocolate. I have had light muscle milk Protein shakes and I find those to taste great. However, after I started eating mushie foods my doctor took me off Protein Shakes completely. They want me eating my Protein.

During my period.... I wouldn't really call it an appetite it's more like cravings. I have always craved sweets when on my period and its been hard battling that crave!! But I have had one period since my surgery on 5/2/11 and although I craved sweets I resisted the temptation. Instead I found other things that are healthier and still give you a sweet fix like Jello, sugar free popsicles and I found that the brand Jello also has a sugar free 60 calorie vanilla pudding with caramel that I just love! The pudding is also a good source of Calcium so that is a plus.
