housecatgirl 0 Posted July 4, 2006 Ok...I am a biiiiiggggg baby:think but this pain in my shoulder is worse than the pain in my port area. Just when the port area pain was getting managable...the left shoulder pain starts.:faint: So, I am going to ask the husband to take me to the store now to get a heating pad but am I supposed to put it on the shoulder or tummy? Thanks and sorry for the stupid question.:omg:
lianna 3 Posted July 4, 2006 Put it wherever it hurts worst! Seriously, I put it on both, whichever was bothering the most at the time. Hope you feel better soon, the first few days can be rough. Hang in there.
MelodyJ 0 Posted July 4, 2006 You may be experiencing gas.....I had it into my neck and ear of all places!?! Anyway....walk and move that gas....also Maalox Max helped significantly....moved EVERYTHING....but my neck quit hurting!!! Stitchy 0 Posted July 4, 2006 I put it over whatever was hurting. Back, shoulder, but mostly tummy. Very comforting.
princess_n_thep 2 Posted July 4, 2006 Warming the tummy will start to alleviate the gas pain and should move it up or out one way or another. I would take some liquid Tylenol for the shoulder pain to dull it.
paula 4 Posted July 4, 2006 Hi Laura, Your NOT a big baby - that shoulder pain is rough at times. Try putting the heating pad on your shoulder, maybe the back area. Also, walk walk walk. The shoulder pain is usually caused from trapped gas, so when you feel your shoulder starting to ache - take walk down the street. This should dislodge the gas and help you expell it.
