Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

I found this amusing

So, I needed to get some tee shirts, for training and general/casual wear as mine are now like tents.

I ordered them on line and was brave enough to order a size 16 (UK). When I took them out of the wrappers, I looked at them and thought 'Hmmm... too small for me!' I showed them to my hubby and he said 'They might have to go back love, they're a look small!' Feeling a tad dejected I tried them on, I had nothing to lose, and I was in the comfort of my own home... and here is the good bit!

THEY FIT ME! Yay!!!

Ok, ok, they fit where they touch, but I can certainly wear them in public... What a great moment of victory! Put a smile on my lil face after a few stressful weeks!!

I did that the other day with a pair of jeans. Thought no way in hell are those going on my fat butt!

Put them on and they were almost too big!!

That is a great NSV!!

Keep rocking that sleeve!!

Hiya Sue,

It really is a great feeling that isn’t it ? It just shows how it takes our brains a while to catch actually register that we can possibly fit into something that isn’t our usual huge size. We see that smaller number on a thing and automatically think it isn’t for us.

Just think as well, a lot of online stuff can tend to be a bit of a smaller fit anyway so maybe a high street 16 might be good to go for you.

This made me laugh, I hope it tickles you.

I got my Take That outfit sorted out about a month ago. I decided to have a trying on session on Monday night. I’d got a top and a pair of black pants. The top was fine, the pants wouldn’t stay up and the legs were so baggy they looked like Crusty the clown should be wearing them !!!! I spent Monday evening totally re-modelling them. I had to take the legs in and run some knicker elastic through the waist so they wouldn’t fall down when I was bouncing with Robbie on Tuesday !!!!!

The moral of the story is of you’ve got to buy anything for a special occasion, do it the day before and not the month before !!!

Love and Hugs

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
