Ok I’mnew to this not just a new member new to this computer communication world.

I don’tknow how to put on the tracker that everyone has after they post if anyone cantell me how to post it I would greatly appreciate it.

Me I hadmy surgery 04-16-2011 in Colombia… And Idon’t regret any moment of it. It costme $6000.00 and every penny was worth it. My recovery was absolutely great. I had my surgery on Saturday was out of the hospital by Sunday afternoonand at the movies on Monday. I enjoyedthe rest of my vacation. I did researchmy doctor intensively because I’m also a colon Cancer survivor and I wanted tomake sure that there wasn’t any problem. The best part of it was yes I had the surgery in Colombia but that Dr. Comesto Miami regularly. That way I will be ableto keep following up with him. I do go to monthly support groups here inMiami and see a Psychologist twice a month just to make sure I keep myself in track. I alsoonly weigh myself only once a week I don’t want to be obsessed with it so far24 lbs :0) Very Happy…..

Welcome! Thanks for sharing your story with us! I am so happy you had such a great experience.

Not sure how to do the ticker either. Now that my daughter is home from college I am going to have her help me figure it out. She just helped me change my avatar today!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
