Hey guys, I was sleeved last week, 5/24. I have been battling something...I guess it's acid?? Feels like "hot vapors" are coming up my esophagus. It happens a-lot, especially after I eat. Has anyone else experienced this?? It is really making me NOT want to eat or drink :(

That sounds like acid to me. If you're not on an acid reducer I would call and request a prescription or ask your surgeon what you can take over the counter.

I had it also. Doc said of the different surgery's the sleeve causes this more than the others. Nexium works best for me, I would favor a Protean Pump Inhibitor (PPI) like Nexium rather than the Tums or Rolaids. Before i got my prescription, I crushed up a Zantac and that provided some relief. I think the only OTC PPI is Prilosec.

You can also get OTC generic omeprazole which is a PPI.
