:( I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if there is blood in my urine or if I have just started my cycle early. Its 4 days out and now I see blood but my cycle is not due til around the 9th or 10th of this month. I have been wearing a pad but no show of blood until I urinate. Is this common?

That sounds like a UTI. Do you have a burning sensation when you go? If so contact your doc and get an antibiotic.

Sounds like a UTI...FWIW I never get burning or pain during a UTI just a tummy ache and low back ache. A UTI would be the culprit for blood in urine, and catheters can increase the likelyhood of a UTI.

When I had bloody urine it ended up being kidney stones. They are typically accompanied with pain either in the kidney area or frontal area in front of the kidney area. Since you didn't mention pain this might not be the case. They are caused by insufficient Water intake and perhaps too much Calcium carbonate intake. If you take Calcium carbonate like Tums you should not be, take calcium citrate instead.

More than likely it's a UTI like the others say. See the doc. You can help prevent UTI's by drinking acidic juice like cranberry or a supplement called EmergenC which contains a lot of vit. C - ascorbic acid.

Thanks all! This forum has been so helpful in this transition thus far... I think the anesthia has made my cycle come early because I'm having a lil flow now but I may have the UTI as well but I have no pain. There is a lil burning but I also developed a yeast infection prior to surgery from the antibotics I was taking. I'm going to give it a few more days and just pay close attention. Thanks so much! I pray all of you are doing well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
