My surgery is Tuesday 6/7/11 and I'm trying to prepare for 3 days post op when full liquids begin. Can I basically have anything in Soup form as long as it's pureed and strained? Trying to think of healthy, Protein rich ways to keep my tummy and mouth happy for 5 weeks while I'm on full liquids. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Theres also the popsicles and Jello from the Clear Liquids stage. Popsicles saved me pre and post op liquid diets. Plain Greek Yogurt you can add different things to like sf pudding. My fav is the white chocolate and cheesecake. I also add Peanut Butter to my vanilla Protein Shakes with a little vanilla extract flavoring. That's all I can think of but search this site and/or google for more ideas. Good luck!! It's worth it!

I did alot of the campbells chunky Soups through the blender, I really loved the chicken corn chowder. At first I didn't think I would like that texture, but the flavor was so good that I loved it.

You are welcome!!

I know what you mean! Sometimes, 200 people will look at what I post and maybe 2 people will respond when I know there are more out there that know the answer!! GRRR!

Kelly ;)

Thanks Kelly for your response. After 87 people looking at it I really appreciate you sharing what your menu was like. Thanks again!

Kim

I just realized a few minutes ago that I actually had the post-op diet from the doctor already in the informational packet that I got from the initial meeting.

Full Liquids on my diet will include everything from clear liquids and the following:

any strained/blenderized Soup (low-fat bean Soups preferable over cream-based soups)

1% or fat free milk

fat free pudding (made with 1% or skim milk)

Protein supplements

cooked cereal-blended oatmeal, cream of wheat (made with 1% or skim milk)

fat free, sugar free yogurt

1% or fat free cottage cheese

blended egg beaters (real eggs are on the soft/mushy stage)

Too bad I don't have the pre-op diet list...
