RAMDON THOUGHTS

ABOUT WLS

When you are thinking about having WLS I want you to think about just a few things.

1. Saying yes means you will do something new, meet someone new most likely and make a difference in your life.lovestruck.gif

2. Be true to yourself. It is you, your authentic self, the one you were in the first grade, before you leaned to massage your personality into a form that would suit others.heart.gif

3. Sometimes it is hard to hear the message because of all the external voices and they are so loud.

4. Voices that are loud are always meant to bully. DO NOT BE BULLIED.angry.gif

5. So carry your courage in an easily accessible place. Be your OWN authentic person when it comes to Weight Loss Surgery. This is ALL about you and NO one else.

6. Last you don’t need the approval of the Bully. You know what is right for you, follow your heart and go for it.biggrin2.gif

Hi,

Excellent. Sometimes we just need to the the simple things in life when we aren't getting the support from those who we thought we could count on.

It is amazing that people who are our friends are scared they will lose us if we become thin and healthy. These are just simple and easy thoughts. So many of us are care takers and we want to please others and take care of them. We need to put all our efforts in taking care of US FIRST!.

I am thrilled you have your sister and she has you.

Keep up the great work with the support.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hugs,

Suzanne

I think #1 really hit home for me. The sleeve really is about a new life and moving away from what we know to make a change that will help improve our lives forever.

I think #1 really hit home for me. The sleeve really is about a new life and moving away from what we know to make a change that will help improve our lives forever.

Hi,

Well, I know for me it means being healthy, and having the life that I wished I could have and always felt like "I" had failed.

With the sleeve it was my tool to allow me to achieve my goal and it also has showed me that I am NOT a failure. And I know I will always keep the weight off. I have made a lifestyle change. It is funny how we are our own worst critic when it came to trying to lose weight before the sleeve.

Hugs, and I am glad that what I said hit home with you.

Thank you Suzanne for the great inspiration just yesterday I had to explain to my ex it’s not about what someone else feel or think, it’s all about me, and if God gives me permission, it’s going to be done.

For once in my life I am doing something for me, something I never thought about, it was always about serving others and I will continue to help others, but I will not forget about ME anymore.

It’s God, Me, Kids, everyone else!!!:D

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
