Yraith 0 Posted June 1, 2011 Well, as of today the 1st of June, I am now 306lbs.. I have been working with the VA Hospital in Pitttsburg to get this sleeve procedure. The first 6 weeks is to do the 6 week liquid diet with Optifast. And the other day marked the beginning of Week 2 into the diet. I am so very much craving for food now, but I know this will help prepare me for later on. My surgery date is scheduled for July 6th.. Since September of 2009 I was 385lbs, so I have lost 79lbs with the help of my wife. I have type II diabetes, high blood pressure, nerve damage, and I can't sit in a chair properly at all. I am 39. I am tired of pain, having to do blood checks, taking loads of medications, and feeling like I can't get up and go do things with the wife.
Valentina 2,642 Posted June 1, 2011 Welcome! You have come to the right place, brotha!! The people here are supportive when we need to be, but make no mistake we do not hesitate to "hint" when you are about to "misstep". We understand your journey because it is one that we have all personally been challenged . Personally, I have found more support here than anywhere I have looked. --and that includes family and friends. Heck! We will become "family" . You just wait and see!! Welcome again.
