I am hungry..should I eat?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, as you know I am 3 wks and one day out, and this is the first day I am really hungry. I have had 90 g Protein, 84 oz fluids, 37 g carbs, and around 600 cals. We took a two hour bike ride today, so maybe that is it. Should I eat..or just go to bed ? I know my dr said it's not a diet, but a new way to eat and live, but I have a lot of weight to lose. I am feeling like I am on any one of the many diets I have tried.. I am moody today, so I tried to pass it off as head hunger, so I tried a bath, more Water, reading book....still hunger pain in stomach. I am already on a acid reducer, sooo what do you guys do?

If I were you, I'd take an antacid (just in case) and go to bed. See if the same thing happens tomorrow and then you can evaluate how to handle it.

600 calories is not a lot.I don't know what food stage you are on since everyone's plan is so different- but I think you would be fine having a high Protein low carb snack as long as you don't go to bed right after. I think it is good to have your intake go up and down to keep your body from going into conserve mode.

If it is right before your normal bedtime, I would say just go to sleep. Now if it were a couple hours before bed, then I would go with a high Protein snack.< /p>

You know what? The few times that I am hungry and I've tried everything as you seem to have tried, I do have the high Protein, low carb snack like Meggie suggested. Two oz. of mozzarella cheese is a great snack (and it really fills you up) -- I eat that A LOT! And there are not many calories in low fat mozzarella cheese, but it's great in Protein :)

If you've drunk all your Water, eaten all your protein for the day, tried an antacid, then I think you should go ahead and eat because, frankly, 80 or so calories is not going to be the end of you (really) and this is the time to really listen to your body. And it seems like you went the extra mile to make sure it wasn't head hunger. I think if you deprive yourself, you're more likely to get back into bad habits . . . :) Just my 2 cents.

I get hungry occasionally. Ghrelin is not just produced by the stomach it is also produced by the pancreas, so I figure if my pancreas is sending hungry signals it's possible that I really AM hungry. Especially if I haven't eaten in a few hours I try to eat every 3ish hours, but sometimes i forget and the hunger feeling hits right around 5hours after eating...so I assume that is a genuine hunger signal and I will eat something.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
