Is there a maximum amount of protein?

Recommended Posts

I have been doing 3 scoops of a 15/per scoop Protein Powder , the morning, then about 32 more at lunch (I am still on liquids) and then need only get 10 or so to be nicely over goal.

The GNC Wheybolic Extreme 60 sounds enticing with 6 in 3 scoops but I think I remember reading that there is only so much Protein you absorb in one consumption. Does anyone know?

This is particularly pertinent for me as I am starting mushies Monday and would love to have one shake and try to get my protein from the mushies after that,

This is one of those...We really don't have a good idea one way or another. Scientific questions wink.gif I think the consensus is "It will vary based upon your weight, your fitness routine, the amount of Water you drink, etc etc etc"

The reading I have done seems to indicate that 25-30g is the limit us mere mortals can make use of at one time.

Bodybuilders and other high use types can make use of more.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
